President - Governor - Mayor
  • United States of India These leaders are powerful regional leaders. They have experience in managing the state governments. But they can never become the Prime Minister of the nation.

    On their individual capacity, they can not expand their party to the national level; it is not possible at all; it is not necessary too.

    Alternatively, they have been trying to form a 3rd front alliance to fight against Congress and BJP. That attempt had failed several times. It will never work. Each individual is a strong leader. In fact, the 3rd front alliance's failure will make Congress and BJP stronger.

    But the fact is, they can become the President of United States of India. Yes. That is possible. Instead of Prime Minister, if we have election for the President, they will be potential candidates.

    It is time to change our constitution to elect the President directly by the People of India. It is time to make the President as the Effective Executive of the nation. Instead of having Prime Minister, let us have the President. Rashtrapati Bhavan is our White House. Let us make the Rashtrapati Bhavan as an Effective Executive Branch. Let the President be the CEO of the nation. Let the President choose her/his team of cabinet members.

    The same thing can be extended to the State and City level. Let the people directly elect the Governor. Let the people directly elect the Mayor of the City.

    The major advantage will be Stability. The President, Governor and Mayor will have stability for their full term.

    How can we make these changes in the constitution?

    Now is the right time. When we put together, these leaders have more strength in the current parliament than Congress and BJP. When Mulayam and Mayawati come together they will be stronger than Congress and BJP. Since both Mayawati and Mulayam will gain out of this resolution, they will support it. Congress, BJP and Communists will be against this resolution. Right now, all the Members of Parliament are free from their party high command. They will vote according to their conscience.

    It is time to pass the resolution to make necessary amendments in the constitution. Right now the speaker Somnathji will be very happy to have discussion on the resolution in the Parliament.

    This will be a people movement. People may ask their Member of Parliament to vote in favor of this resolution. This time, those MPs will listen to the people rather than their high command.
