India's New Deal
When the US President Franklin D. Roosevelt took office in 1933,
he created program after program to create jobs, and
stimulate economic recovery for the U.S.
These programs were called the "New Deal."
Now in India, in the state of Tamilnadu, Jayalalitha launched similar program
in the name of "New Life".
The Mission Statement of the New Life Project is:
The New Life Project is a Government of Tamil Nadu initiative aiming to translate
the vision of Hon'ble Chief Minister Selvi J Jayalalithaa to make Tamil Nadu
the numero uno State by reducing rural poverty & empowering the poorest of the poor.
Leaders have Vision.
Leaders have the will to transform that vision into results.
From Managing in the Next Society - Peter Drucker:
In a period of upheavals, such as the one we are living in, change is the norm.
To be sure, it is painful and risky, and above all it requires a great deal of very hard work.
In a period of rapid structural change, the only ones survive are the Change Leaders.
A Change Leader looks for change,
knows how to find the right changes and
knows how to make them effective both outside of the organization and inside it.
Jayalalitha anticipates the future and emerging as the Change Leader.
Pretty soon, Jayalalitha will launch the "New Life" at the national level.
