When you take a driving test in the developed nation,
they carefully observe your behaviour during road test.
You need to look at the road signs, while driving.
You need to drive at the specified speed limit.
If you drive too slow or too fast, you will get the ticket (fine).
Even if it is GREEN for you, when you cross the intersection,
they expect you to turn your head to the right and left
to look for vehicle coming towards you.
Even if it is GREEN for you, when you cross the rail road,
they expect you to turn your head and look for any train coming.
While changing lanes in the highway, they expect you to look at
your side mirror, rear view mirror and then turn your head and
look over your shoulder.
When you stop your vehicle at the signals, you should be able to see
the rear tires of the other vehicle stoping in front of you.
Otherwise you are too close to that vehicle.
When you take reverse, they expect you to completely
turn your body towards the rear end and slowly go back.
They check your parking skills. They look at the postion of the tire
on parking. The parking in the down hills and up hills are very hard.
They completely change your behaviour
before giving you the license to drive.
While in India, you may not even ride a bicycle.
But those developed nation, with their system, knowledge & training
make you a responsible safe driver.
We have to change the behaviour of our people.
We have to change the behaviour of our officers.
We have to change the behaviour of our city governments.
We have to change the behaviour of our society.
